About the author Mickarl D. Thomas, Sr. is a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit as well as Wayne St. University with a BA in sociology and speech. He obtained a Masters of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Doctor of Ministry from Boston University SChool of Theology and a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Thomas is married to Carol Ann Petrigrew of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and they have a combined family of six children. He is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of Historic Ebenezer ame Church in Detroit, Michigan.
